2006 Village
Quiltworks Block Lotto
quilt was auctioned at the SEWQ (South Eastern Washington Quilters
Guild) Quilt Auction in downtown Kennewick, WA during Grape Festival
- September 2006. One hundred percent of the proceeds support
our local Hospice organization. |

The
Block Lotto project began in 2001 and was named “THE
JOYCE QUILT” Project. We lost a very dear friend named Joyce
Melton in March 2001 to a courageous battle with cancer. Before
she died she arranged to have a quilt donated each year to raise
monies for Hospice – an organization she wished to support,
because they were there on the forefront to aid and comfort her
and her family in her struggle. So each September we launch a new
block contest. Quilters from near and far participate in this wonderful
community service project.
